Short Film Planning - Plot

When writing up an overview of my short films plot I need to be sure to include:

• I need direct reference to the three act structure
• Who are my characters? How many characters am i going to have? What are the characters role in my story’s Narrative
• How will my film work with elements of film form such as; Cinematography (including lighting), Mise-en-scene, Editing, Sound, Performance.
• How has the portfolio of short films has influenced me in terms of techniques and use of film form and themes.
• The film cant be to complicated as it has to fit within 4 - 5 minutes.

I will need to be sure to write out a script and story board, to make it easier for myself when filming and developing my short film.

Plot idea:

• A witch is making a potion to get her revenge on her partner who has cheated on her. She constructs a vile potion which is sprayed onto a bouquet of flowers that is given to the witches partner. The women that cheated chokes and dies, as the witch explains how she found out. After the girl is killed, the witch leaves saying “love comes with a great cost” with a morbid expression on her face.
